This is one of the greatest survival stories of all time about a group of young men who survived for 72 days at an altitude of 4000m in the heart of the Andes after their plane crashed in October 1972. As a filmmaker and childhood friend of theirs, I wanted to make an in-depth documentary with all the Survivors, something never before attempted. Apart from this "unbelievable story of cannibalism", the film attempts to bring out the very essence of this experience, something both intensely intimate and wholly collective, a powerful parable on the human condition.
