The film, shot over a period of six years, is the story of a family of 'Nats' and the story of a changing and not so changing India.Nats are traditional performers/entertainers of India - singers, actors, dancers, acrobats, all rolled into one. The film is a journey into the individual lives and community persona of the family of Ratan Singh. The personal and the political; the individual and the collective; the traditional and the modern; constantly clash and co-exist in this work revolving around the different choices before a primitive people in crisis.
