Beyond the Game

BEYOND THE GAME is set in the World of incredibly popular cybergames. The film focuses on the world's best professional Warcraft III-players (the most popular game worldwide), on their way to the world championships. \par Structured as a hypermodern western in cyberspace, the film tells the life stories of cyber-idols SKY, from China, and GRUBBY, from The Netherlands. We become aware of their different style, ways of living, and sacrifices to reach their goals. Their final duel is the climax of the film. Director Jos de Putter quotes F.F. Coppola (about RUMBLE FISH) on the intention of the film: "Camus for kids".
