Hide and go Seek
Director Brian Baxter pays a visit to a friend, who has been living with his new girlfriend and her little daughter for some time now. First, Baxter travels along with the man and the daughter in a car and a rowing boat. The camera makes its presence very much felt; Baxter is right on top of everything. The cute little daughter, the star of the film, is very conscious of this and does not always want to be filmed. The feeling of space during the drive and the boat trip ends when they arrive at the mother’s house. The small place has a claustrophobic atmosphere and Baxter and his camera seem to be constantly in the way. The man does not want his girlfriend to touch him and denies that they love each other. A trivial argument about some chocolate the daughter has hidden gets out of hand, while the seemingly unmoved man keeps playing a computer game.
