Mijn zusje is een schema
Martine has diabetes, which her family members, of whom her elder sister tells the story, find out after a visit to the doctor. When the diagnosis is made, the unruly behaviour the young girl displayed - she ate poorly and drank absurd quantities - suddenly makes sense. In a light-hearted way, the film explains what it means to have diabetes, not only for Martine, but for the entire family. Her mother has to see to it that her daughter keeps to a rigid schedule, with blood samples, insulin injections, snacks and well-balanced meals. Martine takes her disease rather calmly and even entertains her friends by explaining how the syringes work. The otherwise orthodox documentary is surprisingly enlivened by a few anecdotes, told in the form of a photo strip cartoon.
