Haalweide

In this personal film filmmaker Juul Bovenberg tries to conceive her parents‘ motives to move from the city to the countryside and to set up an alternative commune with another family there. She interviewed not only her parents, but she also asked the villagers about their reactions to the arrival of the ‘city people’. The scenario of HAALWEIDE was developed during IDFA‘s scenario workshop of 1995, under filmmaker Pieter Verhoeff‘s supervision.
