Festival history

The American teacher Jane Elliott devotes her life to the fight against racism. For this purpose, she has developed an unusual method, which she has been putting into practice for many years now in all corners of the world. In this film, she works with young American students. The children, without knowing the purpose of the exercise, are divided in two groups on the basis of their eye colour. Then, the students with blue eyes are systematically intimidated and insulted by members of the other group. They personally experience what it means to be discriminated against on the basis of external features. It is tough session, during which a girl walks away in anger and many tears are shed. But the participants also develop an insight that goes deeper than they could ever have imagined.
