Boerensymfonie - Herfst
Henri Storck
Belgium
1944
20 min
It took Henri Storck three years to complete the shootings for his documentary about the life of farmers in the Belgian province of Brabant. This long period enabled him to register exactly how the four seasons determined the rhythm of life and the activities in the countryside. The film is not only an ethnological document of enormous value by recording the existence of Flemish and Walloon farmers. BOERENSYMFONIE is also a lyrical and visually astounding hymn to the natural cycle in which man, plant and animal live together.
