Saveria is 82 years old. In her younger years, before World War II, she lived in Casablanca, Morocco. For ten years, she was the country’s springboard diving champion. In 1946, she returned to Italy and promptly became the champion there, too. She quit for awhile, but her passion for diving could not be denied. She became a coach. In UNO DUE HOP! Saveria works with one of her protégées, 15-year-old Francesca. Francesca is just as crazy about diving into water as her trainer, even if things do not go all that smoothly. In a lively. musical succession of training sessions, Saveria spurs her pupil on and grumbles about all sorts of things, while Francesca, time after time, fanatically throws herself from the diving board with all manner of graceful twists. They go to a diving competition together - but now it comes to the crunch. Can Francesca prove whether she is made of the same winner’s mettle as her coach?
