During the 1970's the pressure of poverty and political repression in Latin America stimulated mass emigration to North America. In Montreal alone this grouping totals 30,000 people. Gutiérrez set out with his camera to find out who these people are, what they want and how they are managing to adjust to life in Canada.
Gutiérrez is a Colombian by birth and with this advantage he has produced a film with both insight and kindness about the Latin American community in Montreal.
