Festival history

This documentary film deals with the dangers of alcohol abuse. Some people drink out of sheer boredom, others to forget. Excessive drinking can cause severe problems, and often people are put in psychiatric clinics for it.
This film is a cinematic pamphlet of the Polish AA-movement in an attempt to put limitations to alcohol abuse as much as possible. A pedantic voice-over alerts us to the dangers of excessive drinking and rigorously condemns the addicts of being ill and inferior people.
A striking aspect of this film is its high technical quality. The visual power of the images has been attained by an effective use of the camera and by a seamless editing. Wstyd is a documentary with a simple message in a technically high-quality form.
