‘I’m Wouter and I will sit still on this chair for the entire film.’ The camera zooms in and Wouter remains seated - and in the next shot he slides splashing and splattering through the chute-the-chute of a swimming pool. Wouter is unable to sit still; he has ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder). ‘I’m so energetic, you can’t imagine. There’s traffic chaos in my head. Like when you want to drive a car, but the steering wheel doesn’t work.’ When taking his medicine, this Amsterdam schoolboy manages to channel his energy and concentration the right way, but never long enough. Wouter tells his story himself.
