The Last Rites

Requiem for a Ship depicts the inhumane conditions of ship breaking in \par Bangladesh. Every year, hundreds of ships are sent to Bangladesh, and \par every year, thousands of workers keep coming to the yards to break \par them.Risking their lives to save themselves from hunger, they breathe \par in asbestos dust and toxic waste. The ship has to die and the \par dispossessed has to help it die, as if man and vessel were united in \par common bondage.
