- () shows the construction of the "Million Railway Track," for which each kilometre cost a million guilders and huge amounts of soil had to be moved. Mankind's mastering of nature with his labour and ingenuity (i.e. the machines that he invented) was a theme dear to Ivens and one that he would elaborate in many of his films. - includes shots that are typical of the 1920s avant-garde style: workers filmed in frog perspective and carriages that run diagonally through the frame.
