Festival history

Kattappana is a town in the south of India, where 20 catholic brothers of the Hospitaller Order of St. John of God work for 25 years now. They built up a modern hospital and established many social projects to support the poor people of this big region. In one of their projects here in Madhya Pradesh, the poorest province of India, they provide health education to the natives and they vaccinate their children. Brother Fortunatus, an old impressive personality and the only German Brother in this region, gave the impulse to start the missionary work of the Catholic Church by the Order of St. John of God in 1969. The film, shot in seven weeks, portrays the life and work of the Brothers.
