Ballet Boys
Norwegian teenagers Lukas, Syvert and Torgeir dream of becoming professional ballet dancers. For years, the three boys have danced side-by-side at a ballet school full of girls. Now that they are getting older and their dreams for the future are becoming more real, they are training harder than ever. But they are also typical teenagers who have to get good grades in school, suddenly find girls interesting and discover what true friendship means. follows the three of them during this exciting period, while they are preparing for an important audition to study dance in Oslo. How will they deal with the euphoria and disappointment? Can their friendship withstand the serious competition between them? And what about a Plan B if their dream dance career doesn’t materialize in the end? In between scenes of rehearsals, playful dancing, auditions and major performances, the boys talk about their lives. Footage from behind the scenes at various dance academies and courses adds more color to their stories. How does a jury assess a candidate? What does a physical therapist actually test? And what’s the mood among the dancers waiting in the wings for the results of an audition that will decide their future?
