Half a Light-Year
On a sunny day in Lisbon, a young Brazilian is out on the street seeking inspiration for his drawings. Everyday life unfolds in wandering shots of the working-class neighborhood. Meanwhile, a completely different scene is taking place on the soundtrack. Two lovers are talking about their day—the progress of a computer game, the origin of a found wallet. Can they track down the owner through social media?
The young Brazilian director Leonardo Mouramateus has already established an impressive résumé comprising both fiction and documentary. He has won awards worldwide, for his short films as well as for his 2017 feature debut, António um dois três. The key to Half a Light-Year lies in an observation about time and space: viewed from a great distance, everything on Earth is interconnected.
