Cabra marcado para morrer: Vinte anos depois
Twenty Years Later

120 min
On April 1st, 1964, a military coup d’etat interrupted the shooting of a feature-length fiction film on the assassination of a peasant leader in Northeast Brazil. The film crew was forced to scatter. The actors – all amateurs, like Elizabeth Teixeira, wife of the murdered peasant – vanished in the darkness of the epoch. Twenty years later, director Eduardo Coutinho returned to the scene of the film in an attempt to locate these actors. The result of his search is CABRA MARCADO PARA MORRER, now no longer the original fiction film, but the documentary. The film is a touching portrait of a diaspora of friends and family under the military regime of Brazil. João Moreira Salles
