The history of Poland, as told parallel to the construction and destruction of the Bristol Hotel in Warsaw. The hotel was built in 1901. In 1905 it was the site of a big carnival. The first flight with an aeroplane took place in 1910, in the days that pilots stayed at the Bristol Hotel. From 1920, when the Polish communists clashed with the Bolsheviks, the building gradually dilapidated. In the meantime many important international guests had spent the night there.
