Festival history

The Swedish press is deeply impressed by DARLING NINA, one newspaper even compares its emotional intensity with that of SCHINDLER'S LIST. It is difficult to watch the disconcerting contents, another magazine poses. Nina Sundberg's life-story is excruciating, but not without hope. From the time she was eight, Nina was sexually abused by her foster father for many years, a fact she has repressed for a long period of time. Only after she had gotten married and had given birth to two children she collapsed and landed in hospital for a long time. Her marriage broke down. She recovered, had two more babies and is now living with them. Nina's life has been moulded by her childhood experiences. She will never be able to forget, but by now manages to cope with it and look ahead.
