United States

100 min
Seeing red is about ordinary people who dedicated themselves to the communist ideal as members of the party in the thirties. The film contains interviews with Ronald Reagan, Harry Truman and Richard Nixon. We also see people who became the victim of McCarthy's witch hunts, artists who fought in The Spanish Civil War and an anti?communist witness, who betrayed dozens of people during trials and hearings. Kopple: "This is an informative and perceptive film that goes beyond the stereotypes and lets us get to know the people who embraced the Communist Party. By allowing the subjects to speak for themselves, the film captures the spirit of these people and enables us to better comprehend their motivations."
