Lucanamarca was one of the first Andean hamlets to suffer the consequences of the civil war in Peru: 69 residents, men, women and children, were murdered in one day at the hands of the Shining Path on April 3, 1983. Twenty years later, a team of anthropologists arrived in Lucanamarca to exhume the remains. With each bone that is brought out of the graves the people begin to share memories and we attempt to understand the reasons for the massacre. After 5 years of accompaniment we confirm that the wounds remain open and the State continues to forget Lucanamarca.
