The Inner Me
Everybody is one of a pair of twins, director Chico Teixeira thinks. We are all looking for someone beside us, someone who is like us, but at the same time different from us. Teixeira found thirteen twins and asked them to tell what it is like to be part of a twosome. Among the people who are introduced are the singers Pepê and Neném, the transvestites Dolly and Dolly, the priests Henrique and Clemente, the synchronised swimmers Beatriz and Juliana, the top models Carolina and Mariana and the smugglers Eduardo Marcelo and Eduardo Rogério. The documentary contains historical footage from their private archives, interviews and scenes from their daily lives. What emerges is that, no matter how sound the mutual relationship is, all twins sooner or later have to deal with the struggle of determining their individual identity.
