\i Days with My Father\i0 is a poignant selection of photographs and text by the American photographer Phillip Toledano about the last years of his father's life. Following his mother's sudden death in 2006, Toledano began to spend increasing amounts of time with his father. Because his dad's short-term memory no longer functioned, Toledano was obliged to create a fantasy world for his father in which his mother was still alive. Clicking above or below the photographs brings up a series of photos over the screen, which allows the viewer to become a close-up witness to the sometimes intensely sad and sometimes joyful moments shared by father and son. The photos exhibit heartbreaking details, such as a note in which the father wonders where everyone has gone. \i Days with My Father\i0 is a diary that takes leaps in time; a diary in which it is not the days that matter, but the moments of connection, the eye contact, the conversations, and the silences. Clicking through the images, the viewer feels the inevitable approach of the end of a life. \par \par www.dayswithmyfather.com
