Ningen johatsu

One day, the businessman Tadashi disappears without a trace. Among friends and acquaintances, he is known as an amiable and honest man. Tadashi‘s fiancée starts an investigation with the filmmakers, in which she is accompanied by an actor playing the role of her guardian angel. They discover all kinds of shocking secrets. Her future husband turns out to have led a double life, with numerous mistresses, among whom even his fiancée‘s sister. When the pursuit reaches its grand finale, the scene literally collapses and the director suggests that we have been watching a play. It is an authentic event that seems to have transformed into a carefully dramatized whole. Documentary and fiction are interwoven, and the hunt for Tadashi should be seen as a search for universal, human values.
