Ouroki

An old French teacher in Russia gives private lessons at home. The film paints a humoristic and touching portrait of a woman, who can hardly read anymore due to her bad eyes. Still, she does not give up. Seated at her kitchen table, her eyes pressed almost up to the book, she keeps teaching. Her physical weakness - she has to be bathed by a geriatric helper - greatly contrasts with her mental vitality. The songs by Belgian singer Adamo create the right melancholy mood.
