Krisimesi - Video Diaries by Cape Town Children

24 min
In casually shot images, three children from different districts in Cape Town share their Christmas experiences with the viewer. Shot by a relative or by themselves, they show their houses and families and explain how they will spend Christmas this year. Seven-year-old Carla Mohamed comes from a reasonably prosperous neighbourhood and is a sharp thing who fervently instructs her relatives how they should behave in front of the lens. Kgomotso Stamper (8) tells about the unsafe neighbourhood he lives in with his mother and about his favourite cousin. Lucky Phetelo (7), an albino kid, is a rapping Rastafarian with cameraphobia.
