Weer uit eten
Why do people go out to dinner? Of course the food is important, but usually the conversation is even more important. With autistic people this is not the case. Withdrawn as they are, they do not have lively conversations when they are eating together. Weer uit eten follows the two autists Katinka and Meggel at a dinner in an Italian restaurant. In their daily lives, both have to resort to permanent guidance and are therefore living in a commune. Going out to dinner on their own is a rare and awkward event for them. The film registers the two, in the tradition of cin‚ma v‚rit‚, while they are eating in the restaurant. Now and then they break the long silence at the table with a remark. The scarce conversation between the two is alternately moving and tragicomic.
