During World War II, Norbert Schultze was the nazi's private composer. He composed the score for propaganda films like Feuertaufe and Kolberg, and wrote music for Lili Marleen, Fuhrer Befehl and Bomben auf England, to name a few. The songs from those movies were chanted by German soldiers from Calais to Staligrad. After the war, Schultze was able to continue his career without let or hindrance, again in the pay of the film industry. Besides, he was in prominent places at board meetings of various pressure groups, like the association of German composers. In Den Teufel am hintern gekusst - the reproach given to Schultze when he asked his American uncle for help - the former Nazi-composer tells the story of his life.
