The life story of Jerzy Kosinski, writer of Being there and the painted bird, to name only a few, can be told as an epic of the twentieth century. Born and raised in Poland, he travelled via Aspen and Paris to New York, where he would finally settle down. Apart from being a portrait of this author, Sex, lies and jerzy kosinski also envisages the American dream and the double face of human nature. Kosinski's life and work were pervaded with questions about deceit and self?deceit, linked with meditations about good and evil. A few of his friends, including Roman Polanski, Mickey Rourke and Erica Jong, try to shed some light on the question who Kosinski really was and why he decided to commit suicide in his New York apartment in 1991.
