Myth in the Electric Age
Alan Berliner
United States
1981
15 min
In this short film, Alan Berliner takes his complex editing a step further. seems to improvise on the observations of our senses, the possibilities and boundaries of modern science and the meaning they have for us. It is a theatre of natural phenomena that, associated with staccato sequences of different sorts of typography, burst from the screen like a new language. Or, as Marshall McLuhan comments in the film, "The electric age is returning back to myth. A myth is a way of telling you about a process, about changing forms of life."
