I Want to Go Home
All week long, 12-year-old Jaymie and her little brother John spend waiting - waiting for Friday afternoon to come, when they can go home to their parents for the weekend. Jaymie and John were removed from their home and placed in foster care during the week. As nice as this family is to them, all Jaymie wants is to go home, but her father has an anger management problem and her mother is addicted to drugs. Before they can go home permanently, Child Welfare has ordered their mother to go into drug rehab and their father to prove he can control himself. Short sketches of the children's daily lives show how their two different living environments relate to one another and where Jaymie's heart really is. In plain terms, reveals the drastic and sometimes inevitable consequences of removing young children from their home.
