Festival history

In May 1981, a Soviet-Jewish family leaves the Soviet-Union for the States. From Moscow to Los Angeles, via Vienna and Rome, Jean-Luc Leon filmed in an often humorous chronicle the family's discovery of the West, their wonder and small disillusions through. Jean-Luc Leon chose the Lapirovs because they were neither dissidents nor celebrities. Nor were they financially supported or were they able to rely upon family members. Despite their age, Isabella (43) and Ilya (50) decided to leave their country. Ten years later, the filmmaker comes back to find three 'American' citizins. After the Wall has fallen, Isabelle and Ilya Lapirov, and their son Innokenti, now known as Ken, return to Moscow on vacation for the first time. Jean-Luc Leon went with them.
