Festival history

Six African men walk during the night. Above their heads, they carry an illuminated news trailer. The glowing red letters hard to read. What are these men advertising? "C'est beau une règle qui souffre." ("It's nice when a rule is broken."). The Belgian Vincent Meessen resists the prevailing media image of poor, sick, violence-stricken Africans. Instead of victims, we see riddlers who urge us to depart our carefully organized worldview. At the same time, they invite us to gaze at the enchanting, poetic image they are offering.
