Luckey
Tom Lucky became famous as the designer of enormous, highly imaginative climbing apparatuses for children, until a fall left him paralyzed and wheelchair-bound. It's impossible for him to use the computer or build his objects, a situation that is hard to accept for his loved ones. The film begins a year after the accident. Tom is determined to finish the assignment he was working on before he became paralyzed: an ambitious project for the Boston Children's Museum. Spencer, his son from his first marriage, is an architect and helps him plan and build this complicated but adventurous artwork. Tom and Spencer get along pretty well, but they clash when they have to work together. Both of them are ambitious and want to prove themselves, so things can get turbulent once in a while, in part because Spencer and Tom's second wife Ettie can hardly stand one another. The film follows the development of the artwork all the way to its completion. It's not only an account of a creative process, but also of the turbulent relationship between a man and his family.
