De kresj
In the sixties the Netherlands saw the inception of the anti-authoritarian educati on method. By this method parents attempted to struggle out of the straitjacket of their own youth, which had been dominated by rigid standards and values. They felt that children should set their own bounds. In the late sixties a group of parents in Amster dam set up an anti-authoritarian crŠche, where they applied their ideas. Marije Meerman, the director of this film, was one of the children in this crŠche. She was curious about her former playmates and looked them up. What has remained of their parents' ideals? Marije Meerman incorporated unique footage in her film from the time when she was just a toddler. These images also show some of the interviewees at a very young age, while they are playing with their food, making an awful mess or groping about in a toilet bowl.
