La pudeur ou l'impudeur

Between June and November 1990 HIV?positive Hervé Guibert made la pudeur ou l'impudeur. In this documentary he shows the influence of the Aids virus on his perception of the world. Main characters of his film are two elderly ladies, Louise and Suzanne, with whom he maintains a warm?hearted friendship. They have candid discussions about the ailments that come with old age and about the infirmities of the body. Guibert compares their physical dependence to his and he observes the decay of the body. At the same time he shows the similarities between the way age affects the body and the life?threatening festering of the virus.
