Network Society
Zoro is in his final year of secondary school, but he is not doing very well. This is largely caused by the fact that he spends more time behind his computer than doing homework. Just like his friends, by the way. Not surprisingly, the boys do know a lot about computers. For example, Zoro has installed network connections in different rooms in the house; even on the toilet, which he calls the WeeCeePeeCee. Through Zoro and his mother, the filmmaker, we are introduced to a group of computer fanatics who have turned their hobby into their job, and we pay a visit to the international hackers’ conference HAL 2001. On a campsite, many hackers from all corners of the world log in on the Internet from their tents and exchange knowledge and experiences.
