This film is part of a series over working mothers entitled . Joan lives on welfare and is the mother of seven children. She would like to be a barmaid, and feels that her role of mother would benefit from it. But the cost of a crèche is prohibitive, 15 to 20 dollars a week for each child. Would provokes discussion about rights and chances of mothers during the 1970's who live on welfare, who because of there social situation are unable to develop their talents.
