Le poison - Le crime de maracon
In June 1949, a crime committed in the village of Maracon shocked the legal authorities in French-speaking Switzerland. Two girls were assassinated without apparent motive. The police force carried out the investigation for nearly twenty years without ever discovering the culprit. This business deeply marked the area and created a climate of suspicion that lasts to this day. As Maracon is situated on the border between Catholic and Protestant areas, rumours born of other motives soon swept the village. Director Stéphane Goël tries to reconstruct the crime by interviewing surviving family members of the two girls, eyewitnesses, villagers and relatives of the men who were accused of the murder. LE POISON - LE CRIME DE MARACON describes the rumours that always ran and run in the south of Freiburg canton following this drama. From the stories, it is clear that not only does pain last long, but hatred as well.
