What happens when a person dies in hospital and nobody comes to claim the body? Nobody remembers what his life was like, nobody misses him. Who are those unknown people who are buried at the public city cemetery? The director undertakes a search into a person's life, starting from scratch. He counts down the events that lead up to someone's destiny. Augustinas B. was once famous in his profession, he was somebody's trusted friend and colleague. The film is a visual journey into the very depth of a forgotten life, with the objective eye of the camera uncovering and gathering all broken links of a chain into a comprehensive mosaic. The labyrinth of human life, filled with different events, with feelings of love and hatred, jealousy and indifference, is discovered by the filmmaker in a process of peeling off layers and composing an intriguing puzzle. The different chapters in the film – harbour, home, reminiscences – are done in a cinematically superb style often without any words and evoke various moods. Astonishing close-ups of people's faces being silent but still telling a lot are posing questions. The expedition to the totally unknown territory of somebody's life results in an interesting contemplative story.
