IDFA is searching for an inspiring and visionary Artistic Director. This key role offers the opportunity to lead one of the world’s most renowned documentary platforms, shaping its artistic direction and strengthening its position within the global film landscape.
As one of the world’s leading documentary film festivals, IDFA is more than just a festival—it is a platform for filmmakers, audiences, and industry professionals, committed to artistic excellence, social engagement, and innovation. From the festival and DocLab to filmmaker support and the newly launched Het Documentaire Paviljoen in Amsterdam, IDFA continues to evolve as a dynamic institute for documentary art.
IDFA is looking for an Artistic Director who will safeguard IDFA’s artistic integrity and relevance, bringing strategic vision, international experience, and a deep commitment to independent filmmaking. The ideal candidate has a strong curatorial sensibility, a broad international network, and the leadership skills to guide IDFA’s artistic direction in a rapidly changing world.
