October highlights at Het Documentaire Paviljoen

This month brings exciting collaborations and screenings, starting with a three-day takeover by alumni of the Master of Film 'Artistic Research' from the Netherlands Film Academy in the first week of October. They invite the public to join three days of cinema, performance, research, and creative exchange.

Curated Program by Newsha Tavakolian
Renowned Iranian photographer and Magnum Photos member Newsha Tavakolian has curated a remarkable film program, highlighting the works of iconic Magnum photographers Susan Meiselas and Larry Towell.

Amulet (2024) & De Groene Filmclub
In collaboration with The Couch, the editorial and artistic digital platform of Het HEM, we are screening Amulet (2024) by Molly Palmer, followed by a conversation with the filmmaker. In partnership with De Groene Amsterdammer, a new edition of 'De Groene Filmclub' will feature This Rain Will Never Stop (2020) by Alina Gorlova.

Films at De Spiegel
The cinema De Spiegel offers an enriching film selection, including Nick’s Film – Lightning over Water (1980) by Wim Wenders, Orlando, My Political Biography (2023) by Paul B. Preciado, In Praise of Nothing (2017) by Boris Mitic, Beba (2021) by Rebeca Huntt and Behemoth (2015) by Liang Zhao.
