Leyla and Mecnun Abroad

This is a story about my mother's everlasting love for my father and the consequences of their migration from Turkey to the Netherlands. While visiting the village where my parents were born, I found a stack of old letters, letters with love songs from my mother and my father. These letters reveal the passionate love story they shared between Turkey and the Netherlands. There were many gaps in this story which I as youngest born could not fill in. In contrary to how I remember my parents, this story starts with ' They were like Leyla and Mecnun'.
