Director Jon Bang Carlsen met the 76 year old Jenny Jespersen on a trip along the west coast of Jutland. He was fascinated by the fact that her philosophy of life, based on ancient christian beliefs, was in complete harmony with the common-sensical modern philosophy of life. In the film Jenny tells the story of her life, illustrated by old yellowed family pictures. She talks about her life on a farm, the introduction of new technologies, and about her convictions. An image emerges of a woman who makes well-defined choices on how to lead her life. At the same time we get an impression of Danish country-life. A Danish critic wrote: '...the film is remarkable for its dialectics that shows Jenny alternatively as a small character in a big world and as the central character in a small world.'
