Fest of Duty

Celebration of duties, is a ritual that has grown common in post-Islamic revolution Iran, and has swiftly become a major public event. Known as the Jashn-e Taklif, it is held in the year girls turn nine, the age of Islamic puberty for girls. All religious obligations, including veiling(hijab), daily prayers, fasting and so on, begin at 9 years old for girls.
