Small Faces: Fodbold
Small Faces is a series of ten short documentaries about children’s play around the world. Every film depicts one particular activity or game and takes place among children in third world countries in Africa, Central America and Asia. The children display great workmanship when making their own toys. We see boys from Zambia who make their own football out of plastic bags; girls from Guatemala, who make dolls out of clay, and children from Sri Lanka, who race cars made of old tin cans. The short films focus on the optimism and the joy of the children’s games and the strong friendship among them. By adding hip hop music and a consistent, aesthetic and strict visual approach, Small Faces tells positive stories from some of the poorest countries in the world.
